Recognise change of property during a stay and update links accordingly

T

Currently the system thinks once a stay begins, it is in the past. However, changes can still happen during a stay, including changing properties (flooded basement, etc).

When there is a change in property BEFORE the arrival date, the system creates a new guide link and redirects the old guide link to the new one.

When there is a change in property DURING a stay, the system does nothing. This means the host or PM needs to manually create a new link and send to the guest and make adjustments to the original link, depending on the Memo flow.

For my case this week, I made a manual link and sent to the guest, but no new Memo flow. I let my original Memo flow continue as it doesn’t name the property or deep link to the guide.

Now I also have to remember that if I have any changes in check-out time, or any other fields that flow into my guide, I’ll need to manually update those in the new link because the system integration only talks to the original link.

It’s an outlier (and stressful) having to move someone to another property. If Touch Stay can update how we handle changes during a stay, it would then not put additional stress and manual tasks onto the host/PM.
